Information booklets on personal data in Ukraine
Raising awareness among owners, managers and subjects of personal data on the legal provisions governing handling, storage and protection of personal data was one of the key directions of the project “Improvement of the situation in the sphere of personal data protection and the development of information society in Western Ukraine through the application of European standards in the process of personal data protection in the areas of public and private law”.
For this purpose, experts of the Lviv Centre for International Law and Human Rights in cooperation with the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights have developed information booklets, which systematized the key provisions on processing, storage and protection of personal data in Ukraine. Two booklets were developed and published: one dedicated to the rights and obligations of owners and managers of personal data, the other to the rights of subjects of personal data.
The booklets provide information on current legislation and practical nuances of processing, storage and protection of personal data. Owner, managers and subjects of personal data can find the answers to questions that they may encounter in their daily work in these information booklets. The experts of the Centre Martha Levytska and Ivan Horodyskyy and the head of the Department for personal data protection of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Shevchuk and the deputy head of the Department Olena Bila participated in the development of booklets.
